This is one of the work crews that were out signing the trail and checking it over the morning
before the ride. A system was set in place to have a cleanup crew on the trail immediately after
the ride was over, to pick up all the special signs and anything else they came accross. This left
the trail in the same condition as it was before the ride. The trail was groomed several times
during the week leading up to the ride in a cooperative effort by The Moosehead Riders and The
Town of Greenville. Only 1 sled broke down, it blew an anti-freeze line. It was parked off the trail
and the rider caught a lift on a 2-up to complete the ride. The cleanup crew towed the sled back in
minutes after the last rider went by on the return run. Nice work guys.
First thing in the morning all the club volunteers checked in with Ginger Shaw to pick up their
credentials. Ginger and her husband Wayne were the chief organizers for the club, coordinating
everything between the club and the Craven Charity Organization. They worked hard and put in the most
hours and did an excellent job. "Check in" was set up in the cafeteria, and coffee and Dunkin' Donuts
(there goes the diet) were available for breakfast.
Several pictures of the sleds from the bleachers on the football field about 8:00 a.m.
