PRESIDENT’S CORNER – March 2010

The Greenville trails are all snow covered and being groomed on a regular basis!  With the nighttime temperatures getting back to below freezing, we are in spring riding mode and with the new snow last week, the trails are holding up surprisingly well.  Apparently the word around southern Maine is that snowmobiling is done in northern Maine.  That is certainly not true in Greenville and I know all the destinations around Moosehead Lake have snow and are being groomed.

Good news!  The Maine 100 Pro/Am Race being held on March 20th in Greenville Junction is definitely on and all preparations are in full swing for a great event.  We anticipate big crowds with lots of racers showing off their skills on the mountainous course and on the mini-snowcross in front of the spectators at Bullwinkle’s Raceway.

The Maine State Amateur Championship is on the line in the Sport 600 class and it should be a very competitive and fun race to watch.  Any questions about the race, contact Tom McCormick at 695-4543 or go on-line to www.maine100.com or mooseheadriders.org.
